Hector Berlioz' composition Grande Messe des Morts, with its massive orchestration including four offstage brass groups, was performed in the famous Cologne Cathedral on 18 May 2017 – with tenor Andrew Staples as soloist and Jukka-Pekka Saraste conducting the WDR Symphony Orchestra.
