Advent Concert From Dresden

Impressive sacred music in one of the most beautiful churches of Germany: that’s what the traditional ZDF Advent concert from Dresden’s Frauenkirche stands for. In 2017, Christian Thielemann conducted “his” orchestra, the Staatskapelle Dresden, and the Sächsische Staatsopernchor, that celebrated its 200th anniversary. Two stunning singers appeared as soloists: the celebrated soprano Diana Damrau and rising baritone star Benjamin Appl. The musical programme included works by Bach, Haydn, Mozart and Mendelssohn Bartholdy.
