BOSSA 60

  • BOSSA 60 – Bossa is her name © Visom Digital / Carlos de Andrade

In 1958, the very first recording of Bossa Nova was made in Brazil. Chega de Saudade, a song by Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes, the composers of Girl from Ipanema, is recorded by Elizeth Cardoso, a popular singer at the time, having the legendary Joao Gilberto on guitar and orchestration by Tom Jobim. In 2018, we celebrate the 60th anniversary of this universal music genre that is synonymous to sophistication and style. Through 10x52’ music documentaries, we will tell its story through lots of music and interviews with some iconic names who made Bossa Nova what it is today.
