Derrick Carter appears to be a major figure of the musical scene of Chicago. He is a DJ and a producer with highly sophisticated and technical house music. As physical as subtle, his music lands at the Sónar Festival 2017. His numerous collaborations with great artists such as Dixon, Larry Heard and Ame made him famous across Europe, it is a privilege for the Sonar Festival to welcome this expert of electronic music. He will not hesitate to play the music he has always played: 70s Afro-American music, good old disco, jazz and soul.
