Dvorak's Stabat Mater

  • © Petra Hajska

For its tenth anniversary, the Dvorak Prague Festival has prepared an opening concert that is in every way Dvorakian, Czech, and at the same time global. The master’s Stabat Mater is interpreted by a rare assemblage of stars, solo parts being taken on by Kristine Opolais, Jana Kurucova, Richard Samek and René Pape, accompanied by The Prague Philharmonia under the baton of Emmanuel Villaume, and The Czech Philharmonic Choir of Brno lead by Petr Fiala. The presentation of this monumental and unpretentiously human work, a union of human voices with soft, full orchestral colours, promises an extraordinary experience.
