E.S.T. Symphony

  • Hans Ek, Dan Berglund & Magnus Öström © Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra

With the album From Gagarin’s Point of View 1999, E.S.T. had their International breakthrough and the band managed to produce 13 albums before Esbjörn Svensson died tragically in a drowning accident in 2008. This is a unique opportunity to experience E.S.T. Symphony live – orchestral versions of the classics from Esbjörn Svensson Trio with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Dan Berglund (double bass) and Magnus Öström (drums) from E.S.T., Marius Neset (saxophone), Magnus Broo (trumpet), Helge Lien (piano), Johan Lindström (pedal steel) and Hans Ek (conductor). The orchestra work was created by Hans Ek, who orchestrated the unique trio song material. Esbjörn Svensson Trio, E.S.T., was one of Sweden’s premier jazz trios before it was dissolved.
