After seven years of renovation, just in time for its 275th anniversary, the Staatsoper Berlin is back! Daniel Barenboim and the Staatskapelle Berlin present Schumann’s Scenes from Goethe’s Faust, staged by Jürgen Flimm, brought to life by a celebrated cast: Elsa Dreisig sings her Gretchen “with the compelling grief of a maiden” (BZ).
