Fram is a hybrid documentary that examines our ideas of the Arctic north alongside the nature of artistic creation. The film is a historical documentary about our relationship to the north; a dance film filmed spectacularly in the arctic wilderness of Spitsbergen; a remix and revisitation of an earlier work filmed a decade ago in the same location; and a meditation on the nature of art itself. Weaving together multiple layers of cinematic expression, Fram celebrates our drive to always discover new frontiers while bringing to the fore the tiny scale of all our human endeavours.
