The world’s largest lake stage offers the ideal location for this spectacular and captivating Carmen. Director Kasper Holten combines all the opera’s passion with stunt-enriched action – and all this takes place in a visually stunning abundance of video and stage effects created by British stage designer Es Devlin. With her warm and powerful voice French mezzo-soprano Gaёlle Arquez is the perfect incarnation of the great (and finally tragic) seductress that all the men fall for. This production was one of the biggest successes with German TV audiences (ZDF and 3sat) over the last couple of years.
