Monday, 26 April 1937, Gernika, city symbol of Basque identity, is crushed under a storm of bombs, at the request of General Franco. Through this opera, Gernika, with the Euskadi Symphony Orchestra, a true musical testimony is created, a chronological journey in music that retraces the context and facts of this tragic episode of the Spanish Civil War. Sung in the Basque language, the work of composer Francesco Escudero is a reminder of the atrocity of this war.
