In October 2017, the Staatsoper Unter den Linden solemnly reopened its doors to the public, after seven years of restoration work. This film accompanies stage cleaning workers as well as star tenors, stage managers as well as conductors: It's a documentary about the magic of music, about the life elixir called art, it's about the people of the opera. It's about 275 years of tradition as well as about the safety curtain, about Rolando Villazón as well as about the mop on the stage. It's a film about a building site that combines hopes and desires.
