2017 is the year of the 100th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution. The seizure of power by communist Bolsheviks affected the life of millions of people, including three well known Russian composers of the 20th century. Dmitri Shostakovich was never able to escape the influence of the soviet regime whereas Sergei Rachmaninoff managed to flee Russia but never returned. Sergei Prokofiev came back to Russia during the Great Terror after becoming a successful composer in the USA and Western Europe. The film shows the bitter fates of theses geniuses after the Bolshevist Revolution and during Stalin's regime.
