Also in the 175th year of its existence, the Vienna Philharmonic presented a cheerful and at the same time reflective programme from the rich repertoire of the Strauß dynasty and their contemporaries to the audience at the turn of the year. The fact that the venerable orchestra has greatly rejuvenated in the recent years is reflected in the conducting-debut of Gustavo Dudamel at this world-renowned concert.
