Nordic Light – A Composer’s Diary

  • Composer Eriks Esenvalds © Renars Vimba

Eriks Esenvalds is one of the most sought-after choral music composers working today, with performances on every continent. A Latvian composer who studied theology before obtaining his Master’s degree in composition. The film is a story about the composer's path from an idea to the premiere of the piece. About the path which winds on its search for the Northern Lights and for inspiration through the far-off Arctic in the North of Norway, Iceland, Greenland and Alaska. A unique road movie where the artist's expectations collide with the prosaism of reality.
