Prokofiev's Romeo And Juliet

When he returned to Soviet Russia in 1935, Sergei Prokofiev had already been working on his ballet Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare’s tragedy has so many different characters, situations and tensions, that he was able to successfully translate this overwhelming story into music. The musical talent Sergei Prokofiev thus created one of the most impressive ballet scores of all time.
