Radim Vizvary: Solo
The performance is a showcase of pantomime development from Debureau to contemporary physical theatre. Radim Vizvary visits the greatest figures of Czech pantomime of the 20th century and takes their art a step beyond (Fialka, Turba, Hybner, Polivka). For the entire time, he is on stage alone and in several etudes of various styles, he alternates lyrical passages with comedy. The recording preserves an idea of the theatre performance, but each etude is recorded using a different key, a different formal solution to underline the theatre format. The mime puts on make-up and changes costumes between the etudes.
