Reaching Out For The Spot Light – 200 Years University Of Music And Performing Arts Vienna

In 2017, the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna – one of the world's largest and most important universities for music, theatre and film – celebrated its 200th anniversary. More than 3,000 students from over 70 nations are trained here. The university is also renowned for its distinguished graduates such as Gustav Mahler, Claudio Abbado, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Angelika Kirchschlager and Christoph Waltz. For a year, director Barbara Weissenbeck accompanied students from various artistic and pedagogical fields, also presenting rising stars like young violinist Emmanuel Tcheknavorian.
