Red Ribbon Celebration Concert

The Red Ribbon Celebration Concert, Vienna’s famous charity concert for the benefit of HIV and AIDS aid projects, welcomes the world’s greatest opera stars at the venerable Burgtheater: Anna Netrebko, Piotr Bezcała, Thomas Hampson, Juan Diego Flórez and many others take part in a festive concert evening which revolves around the legend of Orpheus and Eurydice. Together with the Wiener Akademie Orchester led by Martin Haselböck, they perform excerpts from corresponding operas by Monteverdi and Gluck as well as works by Mozart and Liszt, taking the audience on Orpheus’s journey to the underworld – “a splendid concert night!” (APA)
