Sir Antonio Pappano welcomes the violinist Janine Jansen. Together, they guide us through the characters and the swinging moods of Bernstein’s Serenade, a Plato inspired musical meditation about love. The programme is completed with two symphonic pieces by Nordic composers and it reaches its climax with Nielsen’s thrilling and full-of-life Symphony No. 4, The Inextinguishable.
