The London Symphony Orchestra – Sir Simon Rattle Conducts Grime, Ades, Birtwistle, Knussen & Elgar With Christian Tetzlaff

  • Christian Tetzlaff, violin © Georgia Bertazzi

Sir Simon Rattle conducts his first concert as Music Director at the LSO at Barbican Hall. It is during this opening concert of the 2017-2018 season that he will officially take over his duties as Music Director. An obvious symbol of this return to the homeland, the programme of this historic evening will be devoted entirely to English composers of the 20th century. Sir Simon Rattle appealed to the German violinist Christian Tetzlaff with whom he played many times with the Berlin and Viennese phalanges. A true concert event for more than one reason!
