The Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse welcomes the young mezzo-soprano Marianne Crebassa for a frankly oriental programme. From North to South, from Europe to Asia, Orient has made artists dream. In France, Sheherazade, the storyteller Ravel has immortalized, is portrayed by Crebassa. Her shimmering tone has known many triumphs on the greatest stages of the world. In Denmark, Carl Nilsen’s music gives life to the resourceful thief Aladin while Stravinsky’s Russia puts on the flaming colours of The Firebird.
