Verbier Festival 2017: Richard Goode

  • © Steve Riskind

2017 is Richard Goode’s first coming in Verbier. His programme is poetic and clever, with Beethoven’s late sonatas (opus 109 &110) which are introduced by Mozart and Janacek on the one hand, Debussy on the other. This mixture of classic-era and early 20th-century repertoire creates a special atmosphere. Richard Goode's playing is human, singing, breathing and inspired. His Beethoven 110 Sonata is a gift. With wife Marcia Weinfeld sharing the stage as page-turner, this recital has a home-made taste and unique bliss.
