WOMEX 2017 Opening

The annual WOMEX (World Music Expo) festivities commence with a grand Opening Concert, focusing on music from a particular country or region. In 2017, for the first time, WOMEX took place in Poland. For the Opening Concert, three Polish folk groups freshed up perceptions of what folk music can be in the 21st century. Kapela Maliszow, Lautari and Volosi each performed their interpretations of the Polish musical heritage individually as well as collaborating on a few pieces with the Aukso Chamber Orchestra (Aukso Orkiestra Kameralna Miasta Tychy), conducted by Marek Mos.
