2nd International Grand Piano Competition For Young Pianists – Final Rounds

  • Denis Matsuev with competitors © Moscow Philharmonic Society

The original idea for the competition came from pianist Denis Matsuev, president of the organizing committee and artistic director of the Grand Piano Competition. The competition’s goals are discovering today’s best young pianists under the age of 16, promoting classical music for piano as an important element in the cultural education of younger generations, and supporting talented young pianists at the beginning of their careers. The competition offers participants the exciting opportunity to perform with a celebrated orchestra and its principal conductors: the Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Alexander Sladkovsky and Valery Gergiev.
