This is part of the series titled The World’s Finest Orchestras presented on 8K-HDR and 22.2 surround sound. The recording was made over two nights and captures the concerts of the final season of Sir Simon Rattle, Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the Berliner Philharmoniker. The concerts were held at the Philharmonie concert hall, the orchestra’s home in Berlin. The concerts featured a world premiere of a piece by Jörg Widmann commissioned by the Berliner Philharmoniker as well as symphonies by Lutoslawski and Brahms – captured in high-resolution images and highly-realistic acoustics.
