Austrian multi-percussionist Martin Grubinger and the Percussive Planet Ensemble rocked the cathedral square Linz for the third time at the Klassik am Dom Festival. The impressive stage show not only featured rhythmic sounds, but also commemorated the 100th birthday of Leonard Bernstein with reinterpretations of some of his most famous tunes. Bernstein always was inspired and influenced from various traditions, cultures and musical styles in his own music. These thoughts of musical and social openness, diversity and compassion were also reflected in Martin Grubinger’s stage programme.
