Monaco may be best known as the glamorous space where millionaires, stars and starlets meet. But the small principality has a lot more to offer: the dance company Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo and its director Jean-Christophe Maillot enjoy international reputation – thus continuing the tradition founded in 1909 by Diaghilev. Today the company lives a quite unique combination of inspiration, hard labouring practice and the creation of spectacular dance events – always supported by their patroness, Princess Caroline of Monaco. The film portrays the principality’s innovative dance scene and also allows insights off stage into the dancers’ everyday life.
