The Song And Dance Celebration is the greatest cultural masterpiece of the Latvian people, and it has withstood the test of time. It has become an event of national and international importance, bringing together people of different generations and nationalities, and uniting Latvians throughout the world. The XXVI Latvian Song and XVI Dance Celebration week culminates in the closing concert where the voices of 16,500 mixed, women’s, men’s and seniors’ choirs, 1,200 dancers and 1,500 brass band musicians and soloists on the Mezaparks Open-air Stage enchant their listeners in a three-hour concert of the most outstanding Latvian choral music.
