More than 15,000 music lovers came to Berlin’s amazing open-air venue to see and hear Jonas Kaufmann’s Dolce Vita concert, in which he paid tribute to Italy’s immortal music. The world-famous tenor, who is deeply influenced by Italian culture and who admires the Italian way of life, performed parts of Pietro Mascagni’s opera Cavalleria rusticana and popular canzonas, such as Caruso, Mattinata or Torna a Surriento. Standing at Kaufmann’s side during this magic summer night was the Georgian mezzo-soprano Anita Rachvelishvili, one of the world’s most sought-after opera singers. Jochen Rieder conducted the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin.
