Mass By Bernstein
Mass is a delirious, phenomenal and transgressive mass. Choir and organ are not outdone. Not to mention the twenty-four solo singers, a Celebrant (Jubilant Sykes) as much lyrical baritone as a preacher or a Hollywood-like crooner; and a gifted conductor, Wayne Marshall. Above all, an enormous energy doubled by the constant jubilation of an overexcited orchestra to celebrate Leonard Bernstein’s 100th birthday.
