OPUS KLASSIK is the new award for classical music in Germany, given by the new founded Verein zur Förderung der klassischen Musik. This society not only awards this prize to artists with outstanding recordings, but also puts the emphasis on supporting young musicians and musical projects. The first OPUS KLASSIK award took place on 14 October at Konzerthaus Berlin, featuring, among others, award winners Diana Damrau and Juan Diego Florez (singers of the year), Sheku Kanneh-Mason, 4 Times Baroque (newcomer) and Benny Andersson (classical crossover). The Konzerthausorchester was conducted by Alondra de la Parra.
