Stravinsky: The Rake's Progress

  • Barbara Hannigan, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra © Marco Borggreve

This production of The Rake’s Progress with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra marks Barbara Hannigan’s debut as an opera conductor and is a special “labor of love” for her since she, who has sung the role of Anne Truelove many times, has hand-picked the entire cast of soloists in international auditions in Stockholm, Zürich, Paris and London as part of her mentoring programme Equilibrium. In this unique and refined semi-staged production, director Linus Fellbom invites the audience to a journey in time and space, from a distant future to the present day, and on to 18th century London.
