  • © Russia Kultura Television Channel

The Nutcracker International Competition for Young Musicians was founded by the Russia Kultura Television Channel in 2000 and has been held since then annually. This unique competition still remains the only children TV competition in the area of academic music. Its goal is to reveal particularly gifted young musicians and to give them an early opportunity to make a name for themselves. The performers frequently win the recognition at international prestigious contests like the Tchaikovsky International Competition and the Eurovision Contest for Young Musicians. The competition Jury always consists of internationally acclaimed masters. In 2016, the International Television Contest for Young Musicians The Nutcracker became a member of the European Union of Music Competitions for Youth (EMCY).
