20 Years Of West-Eastern Divan Orchestra

  • © rbb/Unitel

Twenty years ago, Daniel Barenboim and Edward Said founded the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra. The ensemble now celebrates this special anniversary with a concert at the Berlin Philharmonie: Anne-Sophie Mutter and Yo-Yo Ma join maestro Barenboim and the young musicians in a programme featuring Beethoven’s Triple Concerto and Bruckner’s unfinished Symphony No. 9. It is fascinating to experience how brilliantly, concentratedly and at the same time relaxedly these three world stars make music together and listen to each other. The orchestra with the concertmaster Michael Barenboim is in top form.
