A Symphony Of Sorrowful Songs – A Hidden Gaze

The film is based on the ballet entitled A Symphony Of Sorrowful Songs by the SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana, in memory of the internationally acclaimed theatre director Tomaž Pandur (1963–2016). The camera focuses on the action behind the scenes. We enter the concept of the Symphony Of Sorrowful Songs ballet, "a landscape of time, life and death in search of truth". Shots from the preparations are intertwined with shots of the actual performance. The ballet and the choreography of Ronald Savkovič was set to the music of Henryk Gorecki. Excerpts from texts by Livija Pandur and Darko Lukič were narrated by the actress Polona Juh.
