Kit Armstrong Plays Wagner And Liszt
Described by the New York Times as a “brilliant pianist” who combines “musical maturity and youthful daring in his exceptional playing”, Kit Armstrong performs at the Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth, a unique 18th-century music theatre, which was inscribed by UNESCO in the list of World Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Armstrong’s programme at the Bayreuth Piano Festival features works by the city’s greatest son, Richard Wagner and his father-in-law, Franz Liszt. Alfred Brendel, who has guided Kit Armstrong as teacher and mentor, ascribes to him “an understanding of the great piano works that combines freshness and subtlety, emotion and intellect”.
