In October 2019, Mariss Jansons led a memorable performance of Johannes Brahms’s Symphony No. 4 with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra at the Herkulessaal, Munich. This work can be considered as a résumé of Brahms’ work as a composer with a closing Passacaglia of almost staggering force.
