Riga Jurmala Music Festival – Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Rudolf Buchbinder & Susanna Mälkki

In the summer of 2019, a brand-new symphony orchestra festival, the Riga Jurmala, took place. The Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Susanna Mälkki, with legendary Rudolf Buchbinder playing the piano, performed Johannes Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 2 in B flat major, op. 83 and Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 2 in D major, op. 36. The sold-out concert had the special atmosphere that always prevails at the Latvian National Opera House when such outstanding musicians are visiting. The new festival will gather world-class artists and orchestras to perform at the Latvian Concert Halls on July weekends.
