Teodor Currentzis & musicAeterna: Le Nozze Di Figaro

  • Teodor Currentzis © Stas Levshin

Uncompromising, curious, meticulous and demanding – all in service of the music. When Teodor Currentzis takes on a project, he always gives his all. When his Figaro recording was released in 2014, featuring his own ensemble musicAeterna, it sent shockwaves through the world of classical music, and he shot to fame overnight as an "enfant terrible". His approach to Mozart's score is not only defined by historical precision, but also by a search for friction and emotional impact. This semi-staged production of Currentzis’ Figaro marked the beginning of the 2019/2020 season at the Vienna Konzerthaus: a real statement.
