The Conductress Marin Alsop – Ambassador Of Music

Since September 2019, US conductor Marin Alsop is the first woman to lead the ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien as both principal conductor and artistic director. In 2019, the orchestra also celebrates its 50th anniversary. The documentary follows the exceptional artist during various musical performances, gives insight into Alsop's own professional career and shows unpublished, private video footage of the young conductor with her mentor and teacher Leonard Bernstein, whose assistant she later became. Statements by various musicians as well as the swiss conductress Sylvia Caduff, who became a role model for female conductors, round off this portrait.
