The New Man – Paavo Järvi comes to Zürich... Wherever he goes, Paavo Järvi lights a fire. And he is an avid traveler with an impressive workload: he is Chief Conductor of the NHK Symhony Orchestra and of the Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, director of the Pärnu music festival in Estonia and artistic director of the Estonian Festival Orchestra. Zurich’s Tonhalle Orchestra is prepared to share its new musical director with other ensembles, though Artistic Director IIona Schmiel playfully predicts it will be the Tonhalle Orchestra that will reach the world’s top ten through Järvi.
