Walter Felsenstein – Fighting For The Good Life
The heart of Walter Felsenstein's work: music theatre. Particularly that of the Komische Oper Berlin, which he directed patiently and lovingly until he passed away. The Austrian director held a deep connection to the theatre capital Berlin. At a young age, he found his calling in the art of theatre and –humbly yet passionately – dedicated his life to it. His productions represent an immense ambition to perfect everything. He never stopped searching for raw, true acting and always fought to overcome the separation of music and theatre. We are paying tribute to the impressive lifework of Walter Felsenstein.
