He was a young, dashing conductor and soon became one of the most famous operetta composers – Franz Lehár did not only take the Viennese audience by storm, his music soon dominated the world's stages. An important premier location for many Lehár operettas was the Theater an der Wien, where the Vienna Symphony Orchestra conducted by Manfred Honeck, along with Piotr Beczała, Camilla Nylund and Michael Schade, commemorated the composer's 150th birthday – due to the Covid lockdown without audience and only staged for television.
