Benjamin Britten: The Little Sweep

  • © RSI – Radiotelevisione Svizzera

The Clairière children's choir takes up the challenge of a truly special production: Benjamin Britten’s opera The Little Sweep. This is an intriguing, thought-provoking yet highly enjoyable approach to opera for children. The documentary follows the realisation of their dream, accompanied by an expert guide, the choirmaster Brunella Clerici, in a context which sees Milan’s Teatro alla Scala partner with the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana and LuganoMusica for its première at LAC in Lugano. The performance is greeted enthusiastically by an audience of children.
