Now Is The Time To Dance – Koshiro And 47 Dancers
Koshiro Matsumoto is a Kabuki actor who is also the head of a school of traditional Japanese dance. The performance of a new dance piece Yume Ou Ko (Child Pursuing A Dream) which he choreographed for an ensemble of dancers was postponed for a year due to the Corona virus. Yet inspired by Koshiro’s strong wish, a new project where 47 dancers create a dance piece without meeting even once started. The choreography was taught remotely, and each dancer was filmed virtually and separately. The programme follows Koshiro and the dancers struggling in pursuit of a new form of expression.
