The Inner Film – Zlata Chochieva

We film a musician – a pianist, a singer, a violinist, a conductor – performing a piece of ten minutes. We meet again. The musician sits in an arm chair, with headphones, eyes closed, and listens to the recording. In her/his imagination she/he re-performs what she/he did, in almost a state of trance. And she/he tells us what she/he sees and feels in this moment. No analysis: an unfiltered stream of consciousness. The two layers are cut together. We obtain a short film opening a window to the musician’s secret soundtrack. In this edition, Russian pianist Zlata Chochieva plays Liszt's Mephisto Waltz No. 2.
