Bruckner: Symphony In F Minor And Symphony In D Minor
To mark Anton Bruckner’s bicentenary in 2024, Christian Thielemann, the Wiener Philharmoniker and Unitel are recording the first Bruckner cycle with a single conductor in the orchestra’s history. “When you hear how the Wiener Philharmoniker under Thielemann have succeeded, you are amazed. Almost all of the Bruckner is already there. This is finely differentiated symphonic muscle play, with a blissful breather in the breathtakingly floating Andante, then on in the pulsating Scherzo to the stormy Finale. Just like the Study Symphony before. It, too, was masterfully and with the utmost seriousness raised to its full rightful place.” (Kronen Zeitung)
