G. Verdi: Rigoletto

The new adaptation of Rigoletto was staged for the Prague State Opera by the Czech director Barbora Horáková Joly, the holder of the UK’s International Opera Award 2018 in the Newcomer category. “Rigoletto is haunted by the mystery of his past, which has led him to serve a jaded, amoral and decadent male clique, whose values are tumbling”. Under the baton of Vincenzo Milletari, a rising Italian conductor, the Chinese tenor Long Long makes his National Theatre Opera debut as Duke of Mantua, Daniel Luis de Vicente portrays the title role of Rigoletto, the soprano Olga Jelínková performs as Gilda.
