Herbert Blomstedt With The NHK Symphony Orchestra: Scandinavian Program
Since performing together for the first time in 1981, maestro Herbert Blomstedt, who is now 94 years old, has been conducting the NHK Symphony Orchestra almost every year for 40 years. For his feat Blomstedt received the title of Honorary Conductor Laureate from the orchestra in 2016. In October 2021, he stayed in Japan for more than two weeks to conduct three regular concerts. Blomstedt, who has spoken of “intentionally tackling unnoted pieces with a missionary spirit,” conducts music from Scandinavia.The performance was captured in 2K images and 5.1 surround sound.
