Keeping Company With Sondheim (W.T.)
Stephen Sondheim’s groundbreaking musical “Company” is a collection of incisive vignettes that form an impressionistic look at married life, viewing the relationships of five New York City couples through the eyes of their mutual friend Bobby. After the show’s critically acclaimed 2018 revival in London, Bobby was returning to Broadway, this time in female form played by Katrina Lenk; however, the planned premiere was suspended due to the pandemic. Set to finally open in December 2021, the production is directed by Marianne Elliott. This performance-documentary explores the show’s legacy and Elliott’s creative process with a cast including Patti LuPone.
